Dear WorldSkills Supporters
Re Technical Delegate Position
We had a small number of very high calibre applicants for the position of WorldSkills NZ Technical Delegate. The selection process took into account not only the attributes of the candidates but also other factors such as employer support.
A decision has been made and I am delighted to inform you that Malcolm Whinham, presently the Skill Expert for Automotive Technology, has been appointed as the new Technical Delegate for WorldSkills New Zealand. Malcolm will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role and we are looking forward to working with him in this new capacity.
Malcolm will officially take over as Technical Delegate after the WorldSkills International General Assembly in October 2010, however, he will be the Technical Delegate for the National Finals in September.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Teresa McNamara for the tremendous amount of work she has put into the role of Technical Delegate for many years.
