John Wardrop

John Wardrop and his wife, Annabell, live in Auckland. They have two daughters, Amy and Sara. John was educated in Papakura and after leaving Papakura high in 1967, he undertook panelbeating apprenticeship. In 1979, he joined Fisher & Paykel Appliances as a Purchasing Officer and remained with the company for 30 years, until his retirement in 2009. During this time, John held various management and executive roles in procurement, logistics, operations management, and HR.

John is a Trustee of The Rising Foundation, an organisation that supports, mentors, and provides positive pathways for at risk youth primarily in South Auckland.
He is an avid follower of most sports and enjoys fly fishing and travel.

John declares, “I am proud to be a member of Worldskills NZ, and look forward to providing whatever support I can to ensure successful future for the Worldskills Organisation.”
