WorldSkills New Zealand Chair Trevor Taylor
Trevor, who is based in Wellington, was appointed Independent Chair of Worldskills NZ in 2015. Trevor is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Member of the NZ Institute of Directors.

Trevor has wide ranging senior executive and governance experience covering the private, public, local government, health, NFP, and sporting sectors. He is currently Chair of Wellington Free Ambulance Trust; Board Member and Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee of Compass Health; Trustee of the Surf Life Saving NZ Foundation, Independent Board Member of Greyhound Racing NZ; and Independent Board Member of Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu. He has recently stepped down from the Board of Surf Life Saving NZ and the New Zealand Olympic Committee and had previous governance roles were in the energy and construction-transport sectors.

Trevor’s initial career was within the energy sector, where he spent 25 years working for Petrocorp, Fletcher Challenge Petroleum, Southern Petroleum, and the Electricity Corporation of New Zealand. From 2001 to 2014, he worked in the NFP sector as the CEO of the Outward Bound Trust of NZ.
